The belts and hoses on your vehicle should be inspected every time you have your oil changed and replaced as needed. Belts that begin to crack or lose chunks of rubber need to be replaced before they break and cause your engine to overheat and/or your battery to go dead. Hoses that begin to bulge or crack can also cause serious problems. If a radiator hose breaks while you're driving down the freeway, you probably won't have enough time to pull over before the engine starts to overheat and cause major engine damage.
