MUFFLER / EXHAUST

The exhaust pipe routes gases to the rear of your vehicle, and the catalytic converter (often times referred to as simply the cat) processes pollutants into carbon dioxide and water. Oxygen sensors measure the amount of oxygen in the exhaust and send this information to engine control computer to regulate the fuel mixture. Mufflers and resonator pipes reduce noise, so your vehicle will run quieter. We can repair leaks in an exhaust system and other issues often by replacing worn or malfunctioning parts.

A car's exhaust system carries away gases created when the fuel and air are burned in the combustion chamber. These gases are harmful to humans and the environment. To ensure you and your family's safety it is a good idea to have your exhaust system looked at to make sure there are no holes in it.

The primary components of the exhaust system are:

  • Exhaust manifold

  • Oxygen sensor

  • Catalytic converter

  • Muffler

  • Exhaust pipe
